Movie Review: Run All Night

Might contain spoilers!

Run All Night is an action film starring Liam Neeson as Jimmy Conlon, a former hitman known as the "Gravedigger," who has become alcoholic as he deals with his nightmares as well as the persisting Detective Harding, played by Vincent D'Onofrio. He is now estranged from his family as well as his son Michael (Joel Kinnaman) and the only person who he can rely on is Shawn Maguire (Ed Harris), who is his buddy and former boss. But things took a twist one night when Danny Maguire (Boyd Holbrook) went to kill Michael after he witnessed him killing two Albanians who Michael drove the limo for them. Jimmy had no choice but to kill Danny which broke the friendship he had with Shawn. Shawn orders his men to kill Michael and Jimmy as they both run throughout Manhattan in order to survive.

I must say that Liam Neeson should just keep on doing action movies though this might be his last based on his statement after Taken 3 came out. The movie was easy to follow, zooming in and out of each location as the scenery change. Though the plot has the same formula as Neeson's Taken series, the action sequences were well choreographed and the acting from Neeson and Ed Harris were superb. Even Joel Kinnaman and Common did a wonderful job in their roles. I do feel like the movie was abruptly ended without a definite conclusion. But overall, the movie is still worthy to see in the theaters.
